Today is a great holiday - Christmas

This day has divided the life of all Orthodox Christians into "before" and "after," as it is the day when Jesus was born, called to save all people on earth.

A detailed account of the birth of Jesus Christ is given only by the evangelist Luke:

"Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn" (Luke 2:4-7).

Thus, to this day, we celebrate the birth of Christ, who came into this world in poverty, lived His life in asceticism, and died for our sins.

This is one of the main and most joyful holidays for all believers. And today, I wish you and your families peace and happiness!
