In 2009, I opened the Alley of Journalists in Otradny Park on the Heroes of Sevastopol Street.
So on November 20, we together with journalists made our city more beautiful by planting seedlings of different types of trees: chestnuts with bright red flowers, white magnolias, Pissardi plums. All of them were kindly provided by the Kyiv Botanical Garden named after Academician Fomin. But many people decided to plant chestnuts because they are the symbol of the city.
In total, about two dozen trees appeared in the park, and I planted one of them. Each tree got the name of the TV channel, magazine, or newspaper whose representatives planted it.

The “Alley of Journalists” itself is located in the very center of the park and it starts with a sculpture of a hand holding a microphone.
I believe that this was a great initiative.
