KYIV CITY TRAIN

Since the launch of the city train, this type of transport was used by an average of 6.5 thousand to 8 thousand citizens of Kyiv per day. And the passenger traffic for the year amounted to about 1.6 million people.

Implemented

One of the main tasks for me as mayor was the task of providing the residents of Kiev with the transport of the European level.

This is how the idea of building a Kyiv city electric train appeared, the train would make life easier for Kiev residents living in areas far from the metro and other forms of public transport.

It was a long way, and finally, on September 2, 2009, the Kyiv city electric train was opened with 15 stations making a ring of 50.5 kilometers long. The travel time of the ring is about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Now residents of the left bank, living in areas without a metro, could use the city train and easily get to the desired point in Kyiv.

The route of the Kyiv city train and its stops was as follows.

1. Stopping point Severnaya (st. Kyiv-Passenger)

2. Stopping point Vydubychi

3. Stopping point Left Bank

4. Darnitsa Station

5. Stop point Levoberezhnaya

6. Stop point Troyeschina

7. Stop Troyeschina-2

8. Station Kyiv-Petrovka

9. Stop Zenith

10. Stopping point Vyshgorodskaya

11. Stopping point Syrets

12. Stop point Rubezhovsky

13. Station Borschagovka

14. Station Kyiv-Volynsky

15. Stopping point Karavaevy Dachi

Basically, the city train operates only during rush hour.

On weekdays, there are 66 trips (33 in each direction), on weekends the number of trips is about half that.

Several trips are shortened and go only to (from) Borshchagovka or Kyiv-Volynsky stations. On weekdays, the interval between train departures is 21 minutes, on weekends - 42 minutes.

For the convenience of informing the people of Kiev about the schedule of the city train, it was posted on the official website of the South-Western Railway along with the schedule of conventional electric trains.

A separate city train website was also created, where the actual interactive timetable of the city train was constantly updated.

After the launch of the first stage, two trains of the EPL9T model worked on the line. One of them has been modernized - the seats are located along the sides, as in subway trains. Later, in addition to the upgraded EPL9T, ordinary trains of other models were launched on the line - ED9M and ER9M
