Since taking the post of mayor, I have constantly tried to establish a dialogue with the residents of Kiev, who had many problems. In most cases, they could not cope with these problems on their own, and the city government had to do everything possible to solve them.
At various times, it was hosted by Nikita Belsky, Dmitry Dzhangirov, Olga Sumskaya, Alexander Kolodiy.
The program consisted of several blocks. First of all, I reported on the questions and requests that I received in the previous program. Then we had a dialogue with the presenter, discussed topical issues of the life of the capital. Very often, journalists organized a live broadcast to the studio from Khreshchatyk, where a huge number of Kyiv residents gathered. All of them wanted to speak or talk about their problem, ask me questions that interest them. Then I answered the calls that came to the studio. This hour flew by like one minute, and its main task was to communicate with as many people as possible, listen to their questions or requests.
It was very important and fundamental for me that not a single program was recorded, only live!
It is important to note one more fact. During many broadcasts, my deputies worked with me at the same time: I answered the questions of the presenter and the residents of Kiev in the studio; and my deputies received calls in the call center. Everyone could ask my first deputy a question - call the hotline number 15-51 and talk about their problem or ask about what they wanted to know.
I am proud to have initiated the Mayor's Hour program. Evidence of this may be at least the fact that the recordings of many of these programs are still in the public domain, anyone can watch them.
